Damage Joy invites you to enter a dark circus world where four clowns hurt each other and destroy things for fun. In this participatory theatre experience audiences are given flags to wave if they want the action on stage to stop... but it will only stop if everyone waves their flags at the same time.
First staged in 2011 at Pridi Banomyong Institute, the production has been praised for being “Full of hilarity and senseless fun”, “Nana more than succeeds in raising questions about violence.”

Damage Joy features the work of 3 U.S. based artists. This 2019 run will be the first time the three will work together in Thailand.
Nana Dakin - Director
Nana is a core member of B-Floor Theatre, and has been working with B-Floor since 2008. She graduated inTheatre Directing from Columbia University. Nana is also the first ever Thai director to have directed a work at Royal Court Theatre, London (White Pearl 2019)
Pornchanok Kanchanabanca - Sound Designer and Composer
Pornchanok is a sound designer who has worked with countless small-scale theatre groups in Thailand. She finished her Master’s Degree in Sound Designing from Yale School of Drama. She is currently working as a sound designer, composer and sound engineer.
Rasean Davonte Johnson - Set and Video Designer
Davonte is an American projection design artist. He finished his Master’s Degree in Projection Design from Yale School of Drama. His works in video design include animation, film, theatre and other live performances. He is the recipient of the 2018 Michael Maggio Emerging Designer award.
Original cast
Most of the performers were in the acclaimed original production in 2011, with Sumontha Suanpholrat, Nuttapol Kummata, Vidura Amranand, and welcoming the new cast member Dujdao Vadhanapakorn, the performance artist who has been invited to perform in the latest Bangkok Art Biennale.

Davonte ศิลปินอเมริกันด้าน Projection Design ปริญญาโทด้าน Projection Design จาก Yale School of Drama มีผลงานการออกแบบภาพเคลื่อนไหวทั้ง Animation ภาพยนตร์ ละครเวที และการแสดงสด
โดยยังใช้นักแสดงชุดเดิม จากการแสดงครั้งแรกในปี 2011 สุมณฑา สวนผลรัตน์, ธา Babymime, วิทุรา อัมระนันทน์ และเพิ่มเติมด้วยดุจดาว วัฒนปกรณ์ ศิลปินสาย Performance ที่ได้รับเชิญเข้าร่วมแสดงงานใน Bangkok Art Biennal
