About the Panelists
Kwin Bhichitkul (Deeng Theatre, Thailand)
A Co-founder, Director, and performer of the theatre company "Dee-ng", based in Bangkok, Thailand, who conducts creative activities with a focus on theatre and performance. He is interested in various performances such as Spoken play, Physical theatre, Body expression performance, Butoh, Puppet theatre and Devised performance. He continuously creates stage plays and live performances. He mostly created his works with the inspiration of small creature’s lives and/or issues. He is interested in how small lives could take those biggers to a serious talk. Kwin was one of Thai artists that participated in Lang-Kao production, the collaboration between Thai and Japanese performance artists, which was part of Kirari Fujimi X southeast Asia vol.1, supported by Japan Foundation Asia Center.
Thanaphon Accawatanyu (Splashing Theatre, Thailand)
I started to work in the theatre area since I was in college. I’m interested in individual- ism. I believed that somehow a story or memory of ordinary people, a normal one that doesn’t have anything to do with any- thing, can reflect society, to a nation and to this world we live in. I also love pop culture, music, movie or something we don’t take it seriously. And I thought that these things can tell us a bigger issue than we realize. I graduated from film school and I love cinema as well as theatre. So my goal is to combine two things that I love most to unite in my work.

Kornkarn Rungsawang (Pichet Klunchun Dance Company, Thailand)
Born in 1988, Kornkarn is a Thai classical and contemporary dancer. She has worked with Pichet Klunchun Dance Company since 2010. She represents a new generation of dance artists who wants to bridge the gap between tradition and contemporary dance. In 2015, she launches her solo dance in Thailand. She has collaborated with directors and dance artists from Southeast Asia. She participated in a six-month fellowship program where she joined the in the International Choreographers Residency Program at the American Dance Festival in Summer 2017 and observed contemporary dance in the U.S. At the moment, Kornkarn also works for Chang Theatre, an alliance of Pichet Klunchun Dance Company.
Sreynoch Khon (New Cambodian Artists)
New Cambodian Artists (NCA) is an all-female Khmer contemporary dance company; consists of three young dancers, a company director and artistic director, shaping our own future. Working with a large diversity of teachers and artists from all over the world, we have created our own contemporary style, featuring classical elements and theatre. Since its inception, international and national audiences for its raw emotionality and thought-provoking art have acclaimed NCA. We operate from our own Black Box studio, developing an extensive, continuously changing and growing repertoire. NCA’s work deals with social and feminist issues while maintaining a high artistic and technical standard. We performed our work for local and international audiences in Cambodia, Korea, Thailand and
Europe and were invited to perform for international organizations such as the United Nations Women and Heinrich Boll foundation. As company director, I am responsible of the communication with people and organizations. I am in charge of organizing the events, performances, trips and the processes that related to it and producing it.
Amitha Amranand (Moderator)
is a writer, translator, and language and writing teacher. She
has been a theatre critic for the Bangkok Post since 2006 and teaches journalistic
writing at the International Program, Faculty of Communication Arts, Chulalongkorn University. She currently sits on the artistic committee of the Bangkok International Performing Arts Meeting (BIPAM) and is in the process of creating a bilingual podcast on the Bangkok performing arts scene.
