The City & The City 2020 Edition: Divided Senses
Bangkok International Performing Arts Meeting (BIPAM) ร่วมกับ Festival/Tokyo 2020 (F/T 20) ริเริ่มโครงการ The City & The City 2020 Edition: Divided Senses โครงการความร่วมมือระหว่างสองเมืองเพื่อทำการสำรวจเมืองและนำสิ่งที่ค้นพบมาแลกเปลี่ยนซึ่งกันและกันผ่านแพลตฟอร์มออนไลน์ ทีมศิลปินผู้เข้าร่วมโครงการของแต่ละเมืองจะต้องทำการค้นหา “สัมผัสทั้ง 5” จากเมืองที่ตนเองอยู่ เพื่อส่งต่อให้ศิลปิน ในอีกเมืองนำข้อมูลที่แลกเปลี่ยนกัน มา “แปล” และนำเสนอผ่านกระบวนการศิลปะ
โดยโครงการนี้จะเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของงาน Festival/Tokyo 2020 และโครงการพิเศษของ BIPAM ที่จะจัดขึ้นในช่วงเดือนตุลาคม -พฤศจิกายนนี้
ในช่วงเวลาที่สัมผัสทั้ง 5 ถูกจำกัดด้วยปัจจัยต่างๆ เราหวังว่าโครงการนี้จะช่วยให้เราได้ค้นพบวิธีการในการสื่อสารและนำเสนอรูปแบบใหม่ๆ ผ่านกระบวนการทางศิลปะ ที่จะช่วยกระตุ้นให้เราหันมาสนใจทำงานกับสัมผัสที่เราอาจจะไม่เคยได้มีโอกาสสำรวจหรือสนใจจริงจัง

Festival/Tokyo เป็นเทศกาลที่นำเสนองานศิลปะในรูปแบบต่างๆ ทั้งศิลปะการแสดง ดนตรี ทัศนศิลป์ และ ภาพยนตร์โดยศิลปินรุ่นใหม่จากญี่ปุ่นและศิลปินนานาชาติ เพื่อสำรวจความเป็นไปได้ของการเชื่อมโยงศิลปะกับสังคม จัดขึ้นเป็นประจำทุกปีตั้งแต่ปี 2009

When Bangkok and Tokyo exchange their “senses”
The City & The City 2020 Edition: Divided Senses,
a collaborative project between BIPAM and F/T
The City & The City 2020 Edition: Divided Sense, initiated by Festival/Tokyo 2020 (F/T 20) in collaboration with Bangkok International Performing Arts Meeting (BIPAM), is a collaborative project to explore the two cities and exchange discoveries which incorporate the “5 senses”. The creators participating from each city will have to search for "5 senses" that, from their own perspectives, represent their cities. After that, each city will pass their discoveries on to the artists in their counterpart city, and exchange those senses in digital format through an online platform. The recipients will “translate” and “explore” their own cities to find compatible senses and present them through various artistic processes and means.
This project is a part of Festival/Tokyo 2020 and a special project of BIPAM, which will take place in October and November 2020.
During this time when our 5 senses have been limited by various factors, we hope that this project will help us to discover new ways of communication and expression through the artistic processes, as well as motivate us to turn our attention to work with various senses that we may have forgotten or yet had the opportunity to explore.

Presenting a wide and exciting range of contemporary stage performances, Festival/Tokyo (F/T) explores new social possibilities for art. Launched in 2009 and held every autumn mainly in the Ikebukuro area of Tokyo, the festival features a program of theatre, dance, music, visual art, and film by cutting-edge artists from Japan and around the world.

ภคมน เหมะจันทร์ (มัช)
ภคมน เกิดเมื่อปีค.ศ. 1990 ที่กรุงเทพมหานคร เธอได้ไปเรียนเต้นร่วมสมัยและจบปริญญาตรีที่ Victorian College of The Arts ประเทศออสเตรเลีย และศึกษาต่อปริญญาโทและจบการศึกษาในสาขาการแสดงศิลปะการเต้นร่วมสมัยที่ London Contemporary Dance School ในปีค.ศ. 2014 เธอสนใจทำงานที่สำรวจร่างกาย และการใช้ร่างกายเป็นเครื่องมือในการแสดงออกในบริบทของความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างสิ่งต่างๆ กับพื้นที่และเวลา เธอได้มีโอกาสทำงานเป็นนักแสดงให้กับศิลปินนักออกแบบท่าเต้นมากมาย เช่น Ahn Aesoon, Hwang Soohyun, KabinetK Stephanie Lake, Sita Ostheimer รวมถึงทำงานกับศิลปินทั้งไทยและต่างประเทศเพื่อสร้างสรรค์ผลงานด้วยตนเอง ผลงานของเธอทั้ง “INMOST” และ “Love Thyself” ต่างก็ได้รับเลือกให้ไปแสดงในเทศกาลหรือแพลตฟอร์มต่าง ๆ มาแล้วหลายครั้ง
Pakhamon Hemachandra (Much)
Born in 1990 in Bangkok, Pakhamon Hemachandra, is a Thai performer and independent dance artist trained and attained BA in dance at Victorian College of The Arts (Australia) and completed her MA in Contemporary Dance Performance at London Contemporary Dance School (UK) in 2014. She is interested in working with body, the very tool that expresses from an instinctive place, body as a medium, in correlation to objects, space & time. She has worked as a performer with renowned choreographers including Ahn Aesoon, Hwang Soohyun, KabinetK, Stephanie Lake, Sita Ostheimer, etc. as well as working collaboratively with many artists both in Thailand and overseas. Her works “INMOST” & “Love Thyself” have been presented in many festivals/platforms.

ชนะพล คมขำ (ไทม์)
ชนะพลเกิดปีพ.ศ. 2538 เติบโตที่กรุงเทพฯ และสำเร็จการศึกษาระดับปริญญาตรีจากวิทยาลัยเพาะช่าง สาขาวิชาจิตรกรรม และสำเร็จการศึกษาระดับปริญญาโทจากมหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากร ภาควิชาทัศนศิลป์ ปัจจุบันเป็นศิลปินด้านทัศนศิลป์ ที่ทำงานผ่านสื่อที่หลากหลาย เช่น จิตรกรรม, ภาพถ่าย, ศิลปะเสียง, ศิลปะวิดีทัศน์, ศิลปะการแสดง, ศิลปะการจัดวาง และศิลปะจากวัตถุที่ได้ค้นพบ
ชนะพลมีการแสดงผลงานอย่างต่อเนื่องตั้งแต่ ปี พ.ศ. 2560 ทั้งในรูปแบบนิทรรศการกลุ่ม, กิจกรรมการแสดงสด และกิจกรรมดนตรีทดลอง งานของเขามีแรงบันดาลใจจากภูมิทัศน์รอบตัว ที่รับรู้จากการมองเห็น การฟัง และการสัมผัสสิ่งของเล็กๆ น้อยๆ ไปจนถึงภาพกว้างของพื้นที่ เขามักใช้กระบวนการทางศิลปะมาผสานกับความคาดเดาไม่ได้ในสภาพแวดล้อม นำสิ่งที่พบเจอข้างทางโดยบังเอิญมาใช้ หรือนำเสนอความสัมพันธ์อันแยกไม่ออกระหว่างศิลปะกับชีวิตประจำวัน ปัจจุบัน ศิลปินกำลังเตรียมจัดแสดงนิทรรศการเดี่ยวครั้งแรกในเดือนพฤษภาคมปีหน้า
Chanapon Komkham (Time)
Born in 1995, Chanapon has been raised in Bangkok. He completed his bachelor’s degree in painting from The Poh-Chang Academy of Arts and master degree in visual arts from Silpakorn University. He is currently working as a visual artist using various approaches including painting, photography, sound art, video art, installation art and mixed media from found object.
Chanapon continuously showcasing his works since 2017 in group exhibitions, performance art showcase as well as experimental sound art showcase. His works inspired by surrounding landscapes that he experiences through his senses. He often combines established art process with the coincidental elements of nature and found objects to portrait inseparable arts in one’s daily life. Currently, he is preparing for his first solo exhibition in May 2021.
โชมิ ซากุระอุจิ
โชมิ ซากุระอุจิเกิดในปีพ.ศ. 2535 ในกรุงโตเกียว และเข้าร่วมคณะละคร Offton ตั้งแต่เพิ่งเริ่มก่อตั้งเมื่อปีพ.ศ. 2554 หลังจากจบมาหาวิทยาลัยแล้ว ซากุระอุจิก็ได้ทำงานกับกลุ่มละครโรงเล็กในฐานะ sound engineer และได้เริ่มมีส่วนร่วมในการทำงานด้านอื่นๆ ทั้งทำแสงประกอบละครเวที ทำดนตรี และ กำกับเวทีตั้งแต่ปีพ.ศ. 2559 การได้ทำงานที่หลากหลายนี้ ทำให้ซากุระอุจิให้ความสนใจในกระบวนการและความสำคัญของการทำงานเบื้องหลังในฐานะทีมงานในโปรดักชั่นละครเวทีจึงได้ศึกษาต่อที่โรงเรียนเกี่ยวกับละครเวที Murinkan ในปีพ.ศ. 2560 และ เข้าสังกัดกลุ่มละคร Seinendan ในแผนกกำกับละครตั้งแต่ ปีพ.ศ. 2562 และในปีพ.ศ. 2563 ก็ได้เริ่มทำงานโปรเจ็คท์ของตัวเองโดยการทดลองนำบทละครที่มีอยู่แล้วมาสร้างงานร่วมกับผู้กำกับการแสดงรุ่นใหม่ และยังทำงานเป็นโปรดิวเซอร์อีกด้วย
Shoumi Sakurauchi
Born in 1992 in Tokyo, Shoumi Sakurauchi has been a member of the theatre company offuton since its launch in 2011. After graduating university, he worked as a sound engineer for fringe theatres in Tokyo, while also serving as a joint lighting, music, and stage manager from 2016 under the catch-all credit of “sound & other.” In order to consider how the crew or creative team should be involved with a theatre work, he enrolled at the Komaba Agora’s Murinkan theatre school in 2017. Since 2019, he has been a member of the directing department at Seinendan. From 2020, he launched his own projects tackling existing stage plays with young directors, and also works as a producer.
จิซาโตะ โซเนะ
จิซาโตะ โซเนะ เกิดเมื่อปีพ.ศ. 2534 ที่จังหวัดเฮียวโกะ หลังจบการศึกษาจากมหาวิทยาลัยโอซาก้า โซเนะได้ทำงานในบริษัท IT ด้านทรัพยากรบุคคลไปพร้อมๆ กับทำงานกับโรงละคร Murinkan รุ่นที่ 3 ปัจจุบันโซเนะได้ลาออกจากบริษัท และทำงานการแสดง ทำงานเบื้องหลังในโปรดักชั่นละครเวที และ dramaturg โดยสังกัดคณะละคร Seinendan เคยร่วมแสดงในเรื่อง “Curry and the Villagers” (2013) “Night Never Gets Darker” (2018), และเป็นทีมงานของโปรดักชั่นละครเรื่อง“Right to Play” (2019) และ“Recitations” (2019) นอกจากนี้ เธอยังเป็นผู้ได้รับทุน Creative Environment Innovation Program จาก Saison Fondation ในปี พ.ศ. 2562
Chisato Sone
Born in 1991 in Hyogo, Chisato Sone is attached to the directing department of Seinendan. After graduating from Osaka University, she worked in R&D for an IT recruiting corporation while studying at Komaba Agora’s Murinkan theatre school. Today she works as a director, theatre venue producer, and dramaturge. Her acting roles include “Curry and the Villagers” (2013) and “Night Never Gets Darker” (2018), and her directing credits include “Right to Play” (2019) and “Recitations” (2019). She is a recipient of a 2019 Creative Environment Innovation Program grant from The Saison Foundation.

ชัชวาล สุวรรณสวัสดิ์ (ชัช)
ชัชวาลเกิดเมื่อปี ค.ศ. 1991 ในชุมชนเล็กๆ ใกล้ริมแม่น้ำในกรุงเทพฯ จบจากคณะสถาปัตยกรรมศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากร และประกอบอาชีพสถาปนิกอาชีพ เคยได้เขียนคอลัมน์ ‘อาคิเต็ก-เจอ’ ในนิตยสารออนไลน์ The Cloud เพื่อพูดถึงสถาปัตยกรรมพื้นถิ่นในเมือง (Urban Vernacular Design) เล่าสิ่งที่เจอรอบตัวในสังคมไทยผ่านสายตาสถาปนิก
ชัชวาลเคยทำงานศิลปะจัดวางในเทศกาล Low Fat Art Fest (2019) ที่ห้องสมุดสาธารณะข้างบ้าน ทำ Pavilion ในงานเทศกาล และร่วมกลุ่ม ‘ยังธน’ ทำงานพัฒนาชุมชนและเมืองในพื้นที่ฝั่งตะวันตกของกรุงเทพฯ ปัจจุบัน ชัชวาลมีสตูดิโอสถาปนิกของตนเองชื่อ Everyday Architect & Design Studio และสำรวจ DNA การออกแบบในกรุงเทพ โดยวาดภาพบันทึกชิ้นส่วนและข้าวของงานออกแบบเล็กๆ น้อยๆ ของคนกรุงเทพทั้งในและนอกบ้านทุกวันเป็นเวลา 1 ปี
Chatchavan Suwansawat (Chat)
Born in 1991 in a community near Chaophraya River in Bangkok. After graduated from the Faculty of Architecture, Silpakorn University (Bangkok), Chatchavan has been working as a full-time architect. He also writes a regular column about Urban Vernacular Design, which mentions everyday architectures and designs found in Bangkok called “ARCHITEC-TURE” (Found by an architect), for “The Cloud”, an online magazine focusing on arts and cultures.
He has also exhibited his installation artwork in a public library around his neighborhood in Low Fat Art Festival (2019) and been joining a group of young people called ‘Young Thon’ to develop urban area in west Bangkok. Currently, he started his own architect studio ‘Everyday Architect & Design Studio’ and has been studying the core ideas of designs in Bangkok by drawing daily the designs that he has come across in his journal for a year.
ชิคิเนะ วาตานาเบะ
ชิคิเนะ วาตานาเบะ เกิดเมื่อปีพ.ศ. 2529 ที่กรุงโตเกียว ทำงานเป็นสถาปนิกและศิลปินผู้ออกแบบเวทีในงานละครเวที หลังจากเข้าทำงานในบริษัทสถาปนิกอยู่ระยะหนึ่ง ปัจจุบัน ชิคิเนะเป็นประธานองค์กรไม่แสวงผลกำไร Nomado จังหวัดฟุคุชิมะ เป็นสมาชิกขององค์กร Kitayamasha ในเมืองเกียวโต และเข้าร่วมกลุ่ม Group Nohara กลุ่มคนเบื้องหลังที่ทำงานสร้างสรรค์ละครเวที ในปีพ.ศ. 2560 ตั้งแต่สมัยมหาวิทยาลัย เขาได้ใช้ความถนัดทางด้านสถาปัตยกรรมของตนเองทำงานช่วยเหลือผู้ประสบภัยแผ่นดินไหวและได้มีโอกาสทำงานที่เกี่ยวข้องกับเวิร์คช็อปในต่างประเทศในให้ความรู้เรื่องการซ่อมแซมที่พักอาศัยแก่ผู้ประสบภัย จากการซ่อมแซมบ้านเก่าแบบญี่ปุ่น ทำให้เขาได้มีโอกาสสังเกตเรื่องการใช้ชีวิตและสิ่งที่หายไปในการใช้ชีวิตประจำวัน รวมถึงผู้คน และ สภาพแวดล้อมที่ยังคงหลงเหลืออยู่ ในระยะหลังมานี้เขาได้ทำงานออกแบบเวทีให้กับละครเรื่อง “Happy days” (2019) ของ Hachisu Kikaku และเรื่อง “The City Thereafter” ของ Nuthmique อีกด้วย
Shikine Watanabe
Born in 1986 in Tokyo, Shikine Watanabe is a structural designer and stage design. Following a period working at a design firm, he is now the head of the Fukushima-based nonprofit Nomado, a member of the Kyoto-based Kitayamasha, and, since 2017, a participant in Group Nohara. Starting during his time at university, he has been involved with supporting disaster zones through self-construction and with overseas workshops. Having restored an old Japanese house to live in, he examines the landscapes and appearances left behind, and the things lost within everyday life. His recent stage designs include for Hachisu Kikaku’s “Happy days” (2019) and Nuthmique’s “The City Thereafter.”

ปิยะวรรณ ทรัพย์สำรวม (หนิง)
ปิยะวรรณเกิดเมื่อปีพ.ศ. 2529 ที่จังหวัดกรุงเทพฯ สำเร็จการศีกษาระดับปริญญาตรี สาขาวิชาภาษาญี่ปุ่น คณะอักษรศาสตร์ จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย และปริญญาโทสาขาวรรณคดีญี่ปุ่นสมัยใหม่จากคณะเดียวกัน ปิยะวรรณมีความสนใจและทำงานเพื่อสนับสนุนงานด้านศิลปะหลากหลายสาขา พร้อมกับทำงานอิสระเป็นล่าม นักแปล ผู้ดำเนินรายการและผู้ประสานงานโครงการ นอกจากนี้ ยังมีส่วนร่วมในการคัดสรรค์การแสดงมาร่วมในเทศกาลละครสตรีทโชว์ในกรุงเทพฯ ที่มีชื่อว่า “Bangkok Street Show” (2556 – 2558) ปิยะวรรณเข้าร่วมโครงการนี้ ในฐานะล่ามและผู้ประสานงาน
Piyawan Sapsamreom (Ning)
Born in 1986, Bangkok. Graduated from Japanese Language Department and completed master’s degree in Modern Japanese Literature, Faculty of Arts, Chulalongkorn University. Piyawan has strong motivation to support arts while working as a freelance in various fields including interpreter, translator, moderator and coordinator. She is also involved in curating the programme for the biggest street performance festival in Bangkok called ‘Bangkok Street Show’ (2013-2015). Piyawan participates in The City & The City Project as an interpreter and coordinator.
