Darlane Litaay is a performer and choreographer. During his career, he performed his own performances throughout major performance venues and festivals in Europe, Australia, and Asia. He has worked with numerous curators, such as Melati Suryodarmo, Tang Fu Kuen, Arco Renz, Anna Wagner or Christoph Winkler, Rainer Hofman, Miroto and Joseph Mitchell. He has also developed works in collaboration with Tian Rooteveel, Choi Ka Fai, Natalie Hennedige, Jean Paul Lespagnard, and Daniel Kotter.

Suiwa Project was inspired by the myth of Maibrat (indigenous people in Papua Indonesia). The Maibrat believes that Suiwa was the God of the world. He had created the world with His own dance movement. Furthermore, in terms of site-specific choreography, all of the performers were connected to the elements (earth, water, fire, air).
Interestingly, it was performed twice with the same idea. It took place for the first time outdoors at the Banjarmili Dance Studio Environmental. The second performance was held indoors in the black box space at Institute Français d’Indonésie.
I tried to make possible the transformation of spaces from outdoor to indoor. The concept is connected to the current global pandemic paradigm. Society has been forced to move from outside to inside, everyone must pay attention to the "New Normal '' rules, somehow like from a freedom to invisible border. What is the most important space for human beings?
Suiwa Project ได้รับเเรงบันดาลใจมาจากตำนานของชาว Maibrat ชนพื้นเมืองในปาปัว ประเทศอินโดนีเซีย ชาว Maibrat เชื่อว่า Suiwa เป็นพระเจ้าผู้สร้างโลกด้วยลีลาระบำ งานชิ้นนี้ออกแบบลีลาแบบ site-specific หรือการแสดงที่ออกแบบจากลักษณะของสถานที่จัดแสดง นักเต้นจะทำงานกับธาตุทั้ง 4 ดิน น้ำ ลม และไฟ
ที่น่าสนใจของงานชิ้นนี้ คือ งานถูกจัดแสดง 2 ครั้ง ครั้งแรกจัดแสดงนอกสถานที่ที่ the Banjarmili Dance Studio Environmental ครั้งที่สองจัดแสดงใน black box ที่สถาบันฝรั่งเศสประจำอินโดนีเซีย
ผมพยายามทำให้งานที่ออกแบบไว้ให้จัดแสดงนอกอาคารมาอยู่ในอาคารเป็นได้มากที่สุด แนวคิดเป็นเรื่องเกี่ยวกับสถานการณ์ของโลกในภาวะโรคระบาด สังคมถูกบังคับให้เข้าไปอยู่ในอาคาร ต้องระวังกับกฎการใช้ชีวิต “วิถีใหม่” ตั้งแต่ความเป็นอิสระไปจนถึงเส้นแบ่งสมมติ พื้นที่แบบไหนสำคัญกับมนุษย์มากที่สุด
