An original showcase performance initiated by BIPAM, the artists talk about the creative process behind In Ter’s View and the collaboration between Thai director Wichaya Artamat and Cambodian performers from New Cambodian Artist troupe who have been questioned on conventional social values such as whether they are 'too sexy' or ‘not Cambodian enough'.

About the speakers
Wichaya Artamat
is a member of For What Theatre. He studied film in undergrad and is captivated by performances, started working in theater as a project coordinator for Bangkok Theatre Festival 2008. He joined New Theatre Society in 2009, during which he grew to become a director recognised for various experimental forms and unconventional theatrical approach. Wichaya is especially interested in exploring how the society remembers and unremembers its history through certain calendar days. His work ‘This Song Father used to Sing / Three Days in May’ was presented at Kunstenfestivaldesarts and Wiener Festwochen in May 2019. He also co-founded For What Theatre in 2015, and is a member of Sudvisai Club and Collective Thai Scripts.
New Cambodian Artists (NCA)
is an all-female Khmer contemporary dance company; consists of three young dancers, a company director and artistic director, shaping our own future.
Working with a large diversity of teachers and artists from all over the world, we have created our own contemporary style, featuring classical elements and theatre. Since its inception, international and national audiences for its raw emotionality and thought-provoking art have acclaimed NCA. We operate from our own Black Box studio, developing an extensive, continuously changing and growing repertoire. NCA’s work deals with social and feminist issues while maintaining a high artistic and technical standard.
We performed our work for local and international audiences in Cambodia, Korea, Thailand and Europe and were invited to perform for international organizations such as the United Nations Women and Heinrich Boll foundation.

Siree Riewpaiboon (Moderator)
is a performer, interpreter, performing arts manager and producer. She received a B.A. majoring in Japanese and an M.A. in Dramatic Arts from Chulalongkorn University. She has been working as an interpreter and coordinator for international collaboration projects since 2014 and joined the Japan Foundation, Bangkok as a Program Officer from 2016 - 2019. Her work interests lie within the artistic and production process of cross-cultural / cross-lingual / cross-disciplinary projects and how it can connect to different circles of people.
สิรี ริ้วไพบูลย์ เป็นนักแสดง ล่าม นักจัดการศิลปะการแสดง และโปรดิวเซอร์ จบการศึกษาระดับปริญญาตรีสาขาภาษาญี่ปุ่น และปริญญาโทสาขาศิลปการละคร จากคณะอักษรศาสตร์ จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย ทำงานเป็นล่ามและผู้ประสานงานโครงการความร่วมมือข้ามชาติมาตั้งแต่ปี 2557 และเข้าบรรจุเป็นพนักงานเจแปนฟาวน์เดชั่น กรุงเทพฯ ตำแหน่งเจ้าหน้าที่ประสานงาน (Program Officer) ตั้งแต่ปี 2559 - 2561
ปัจจุบันสิรีมุ่งเน้นการทำงานศึกษากระบวนการเชิงสร้างสรรค์ และเชิงอำนวยการของโครงการศิลปะการแสดงที่ข้ามศาสตร์ ข้ามวัฒนธรรม ข้ามเส้นแบ่งภาษา และการหาความเป็นไปได้ในการเชื่อมโยงสิ่งเหล่านั้นกับผู้คนกลุ่มต่างๆ
